When I arrived at the desk, the attendant wouldn’t accept my physical MasterCard as it was and Apple Card through Goldman Sachs. The online check in didn’t work through their website and app so express check in didn’t work. When I arrived at the Budget desk, the wait was an hour as 2 of the 3 employees went away for 45 minutes. This reflects very poorly on Budget that they allow this person to be the first interaction with customers. He lacks interpersonal skills and is made no effort to help the situation. The counter staff should not be working in customer services. Johnnie reported he had the 7 passenger car and had tried to call the counter staff multiple times but he did not pick up. In the meantime, my husband went directly to the car pick up area and spoke with "Johnnie" who was extremely helpful. He ignored us for over 30 minutes and when we returned to the counter, he continued his rude attitude and acted like it was my problem that the car I reserved was not present. He told us to wait while he checked with another budget person in the car pick up area. He told us that we could take another car but could not tell us if it was for 5 or 7. When we arrived, he informed us that he did not have the 7 passenger one way rental that we reserved back in January. The counter staff at the Salt Lake City Budget was rude and unhelpful.
